Abstract

ABSTRACT Population growth in urban areas which is increasingly rapid has made agricultural land converted into residential land, therefore hydroponic farming is an alternative to be able to carry out agricultural activities without requiring large areas of land. In general, currently the nutrient regulation for plants, monitoring of temperature and water needed by plants is checked manually, this results in plant owners being required to check temperature, nutrient levels and water levels using conventional measuring instruments such as thermometers and rulers. Therefore, a tool that is able to adjust nutrients and water level automatically is needed as well as a tool that is able to monitor temperature, water level and nutrient levels in order to make it easier for plant owners to find out the condition of hydroponic plants. In this study, a tool will be made according to the owner's needs in order to make it easier for plant owners to monitor and care for their hydroponic plants, the monitoring process is carried out using an application installed on a smartphone, this application will display data read by the TDS sensor, ultrasonic sensor, temperature sensor and then sent to the application page on the smartphone. Based on the tests that have been carried out, the accuracy and precision values of the TDS sensor readings were obtained, namely 96.7% and 99.9%, then the accuracy and precision values of the ultrasonic sensor readings were also obtained at 99.3% and 99.1%, as well as the values The accuracy and precision obtained from the temperature sensor readings are 98.3% and 99.2%. In other words, this tool can work well and optimally because it has an average accuracy of 98.1% and a precision of 99.4%. Keywords : Hydroponics, Temperature, Nutrition, Water Level, Monitoring
