Abstract
NELI KURNIA Department of Informatics, Faculty of Science & Technology University of Technology Yogyakarta North Ringroad St., Jombor Sleman Yogyakarta E-mail: nelikurnia98@gmail.com ABSTRACT This web-based marketplace information system for searching and renting boarding houses in Yogyakarta city was created because of the needs of students or newcomers for boarding information in the city of Yogyakarta. Technology is increasingly rapidly developing, making all jobs in life have shifted to be assisted by technology. A boarding house is a home business that provides a place or room for rent to those in need. The need for boarding houses is essential, considering that students who study for a long time and migrants from outside the city need a place to live in the Yogyakarta City area. The problem that often occurs for students and newcomers to find a boarding house or a place to live is the lack of accurate and relevant information. So that they do not know which location has a boarding house at an affordable cost or the type of boarding house desired, due to the lack of accurate and relevant information so that people do not know which location has an affordable boarding house or the type of boarding they want. This marketplace information system for boarding search and rental is a system that accommodates or can become friends for students and newcomers who feel confused in finding boarding houses without intermediaries or services that have to pay more and help boarding owners in advertising their boarding houses online. This system provides boarding information starting from information on the place, price, room photos, facilities, and bookings for boarding room bookings that can be done with this system, and it gives the boarding house owner the advantage of being able to advertise his boarding house maximally. The implementation of making this system uses the web, MYSQL database, and the Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) programming language, and HyperText Markup Language (HTML).
