Abstract

Difa Agung Pratomo Department of Informatics, Faculty of Science & Technology University of Technology Yogyakarta North Ringroad St., Jombor Sleman Yogyakarta E-mail: difaagung2410@gmail.com ABSTRACT This study designed a system to classify the quality of river water in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The river acts as water which is the closest source of water for some rural and urban residents and home to several aquatic ecosystems. However, as population increases, industrial growth, economic development, and an increase in living standards cause a decrease in river water quality. The decline in river water quality is indicated by the quality of the water flowing in the river becomes polluted. Following the Decree of the State Minister for the Environment Number 115 of 2003, BLH (Environmental Agency) Yogyakarta has determined water quality using the Pollution Index method. The Pollution Index is determined from the resultant maximum value and the average value of the concentration ratio per parameter to the standard value of quality; this makes determining the quality of water quality take a long time. To find out whether the river water is polluted or not, classification is carried out using the C4.5 algorithm method using 254 datasets, and seven variables are used that can affect the quality of river water. The output is in the form of four classification classes, namely meeting quality standards, lightly polluted. Moderately polluted and heavily polluted. From the research that has been done, researchers have succeeded in making a classification system for river water pollution in the Special Region of Yogyakarta with an accuracy value of 73.68%, 43.06% precision and 50% recall of 178 training data and 76 test data.
