Abstract
The objective of this research is to find out the life meaninglessness in “Me Before You”. This romantic novel is written by Jojo Moyes in 2012. The method of research is descriptive qualitative method. The data are taken from the novel, especially from the plot and characterization of the subject. The data were gained by reading the novel repeatedly, selecting the related data and source, classifying the important and relevant data which show life meaninglessness. In doing the research, Objective Theory and Cognitive Theory by Aaron Beck are applied. The research proves that the life meaninglessness of Will Traynor in Jojo Moyes’ Me Before You is caused by a tragic experiences he faces as the cause of an accident. The accident makes him physically paralyzed. The study also finds his self-esteem becomes low and he tends to blame himself for everything. This condition makes Will Traynor feels give up for everything in his life. He thinks that his life has ended and he decides to do Euthanasia.
