Abstract
The pace of development in the world of information and communication technology is currently growing rapidly and has an impact on all aspects of life, including in the field of education. To help support the effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency of teachers and students in carrying out school exam activities at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta, it is necessary to establish an exam system based on web technology to support the effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency of school exam activities at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta. This study aims to produce a web-based online exam application at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta that is able to manage the implementation of school exams, namely making questions, making answer keys, correcting answer results, printing school exam results for school exam students. The method used in this study is the waterfall method which consists of analysis, design, coding, and testing. Meanwhile, to collect data - data in this study using the method of observation, interviews, and literature study. To design the system using the UML (Unified Modeling Language) method and the implementation of the program code using the PHP programming language with the MySQL database management system. The final result of this research is to produce a website-based online exam system that is designed and built to simplify and speed up the process of students taking school exams, also designed and built so that the correction of students' answers on exams can be faster, more precise and accurate.
