Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesia is a tropical country with 2 seasons, namely the rainy season and the dry season where the long dry season is one of the factors that causes crop failure. This crop failure is one of the causes of the decline in agricultural yields. An appropriate technological solution is needed in the irrigation system/irrigation of agricultural land which is difficult during the dry season. PLN electricity is not available on agricultural land and the use of Diesel/BBM fueled water pumps is very expensive, wasteful, and ineffective, so an alternative solution is needed in the form of a pump. water fueled by renewable energy which can later increase the productivity of farmers' agricultural products. The abundant availability of solar energy in Indonesia needs to be utilized. The Off Grid Solar Power Generation System can be applied to irrigation systems on agricultural land where solar panels are the main source which will later be stored in a battery and can be used at any time as long as the energy stored in the battery is still available to supply the load. Therefore, at this time, the researcher will make a prototype of an Off Grid solar power plant (PLTS) as a prototype power supply for a rice irrigation system. The use of PLTS Off Grid is expected to help the productivity of agricultural products. In this study, a 20Wp solar panel and a 7Ah battery were used to supply a load of 48.58Wh. With an average power gain of 3 days with a solar panel irradiation time of 9 hours, a power of 101.00Wh is obtained so that the solar panel is able to supply the load and still has energy reserves for 2 days. Then the battery is in 70% condition, it can be used to supply the load without the help of solar panels for 1.2 days and for charging the battery in 70% used condition it takes 1.1 days. Keywords : PLTS, Rice Field Irrigation, Renewable Energy, Power Supply, Battery
