Abstract
This research is a comparative study of the 1922 novella and the 1922 movie. The study aims to determine the reduction, addition, and variation of the 1922 novella into the 1922 movie. This research employs qualitative descriptive and Eneste's theory to analyze subtraction, addition, and variation in the ecranisation theory. Collecting data is primarily based on the shape of literary works specializing in the intrinsic factors of the 1922 novella posted in 2010 and the 1922 film launched in 2017. In collecting data, the writer uses the recording method as an instrument to determine the reduction, addition, and variation of the novella into a movie. The writer finds some reductions, additions, and variations occurred due to ecranisation in some fictional elements in this research. There are no reductions, additions, and variations in themes, points of view, and social settings. However, reduction, addition, and variation occur in several events, plots, characters, places, and time settings. Keywords: 1922, comparative, ecranisation, movie, novella Skripsi ini adalah studi perbandingan novella 1922 dan film 1922. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengurangan, penambahan, dan variasi dari novella 1922 ke dalam film 1922. Penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif dan menggunakan teori Eneste untuk analisis pengurangan, penambahan, dan variasi dalam teori ekranisasi. Pengumpulan data penelitian berdasarkan struktur karya sastra yang berfokus pada unsur intrinsik novella 1922 yang terbit tahun 2010 dan film 1922 yang rilis pada tahun 2017. Dalam pengumpulan data, penulis menggunakan metode pencatatan sebagai instrumen untuk mengetahui pengurangan, penambahan, dan variasi dari novella menjadi film. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menemukan bahwa ada beberapa pengurangan, penambahan dan variasi yang telah terjadi sebagai akibat dari ekranisasi di beberapa unsur fiksi. Tidak ada pengurangan, penambahan dan variasi yang terjadi pada tema dan sudut pandang dan latar sosial. Sedangkan pengurangan, penambahan dan variasi terjadi pada beberapa peristiwa, alur, tokoh, latar tempat, dan waktu. Kata kunci: 1922, bandingan, ekranisasi, film, novella.
