Abstract
This paper is about two similar movies that consist of Radical Feminism in their main characters. The type of research is qualitative research with the Radical Feminism, Objective, and Sociological theories as theoretical approaches to answer the problem formulation as follows: 1) what are the forms of Radical Feminism in the main characters Aashiqui 2 and A Star Is Born 2018 movies? 2) what are the causes of their emergence? And 3) what are their impacts on the main characters of those movies? The result of the research showed that there were two kinds of Radical Feminism in Aashiqui 2 and A Star Is Born 2018. Radical Cultural Feminism existed in both movies, but Radical Libertarian Feminism was only found in A Star Is Born 2018. Radical Feminism appeared because of the social environment, dreams, and love. The Radical Feminism in those movies improved the equality between men and women in getting the chance of reaching their dreams, right in decision making, and liberated women, minorities, and men by breaking the constraining boundaries of gender. However, Radical Feminism also caused conflict from the confusion about permissible dynamics between them and made the male main characters feel competitive and inferior until they knocked each other down. Keywords: Equality, Radical Feminism, Sociological theories Skripsi ini adalah tentang dua film serupa yang berisi tentang Feminisme Radikal dalam tokoh-tokoh utamanya. Jenis penelitian skripsi ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan teori Feminisme Radikal, Objektif, dan Sosiologis sebagai pendekatan teoritis untuk menjawab rumusan masalah sebagai berikut; 1) apa saja bentuk-bentuk Radikal Feminisme yang ditemukan pada tokoh-tokoh utama film Aashiqui 2 dan A Star Is Born 2018, apa saja penyebab dari kemunculnya dan apa saja dampaknya terhadap tokoh-tokoh utama film-film tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada dua jenis Feminisme Radikal pada tokoh-tokoh utama dalam film Aashiqui 2 dan A Star Is Born 2018. Ada Feminisme Budaya Radikal di kedua film tersebut, namun Feminisme Libertarian Radikal hanya ditemukan dalam film A Star Is Born 2018. Feminisme Radikal tersebut muncul karena lingkungan sosial, impian, dan cinta. Feminisme Radikal pada film-film tersebut meningkatkan kesetaraan antara pria dan wanita dalam mendapatkan kesempatan meraih mimpi, hak membuat keputusan, serta membebaskan wanita, minoritas dan pria dengan melanggar batas-batas yang membatasi gender. Namun, feminisme radikal itu juga menimbulkan konflik dari kebingungan tentang dinamika yang diizinkan di antara mereka dan membuat karakter utama laki-laki merasa tersaingi, minder hingga saling menjatuhkan satu sama lain.
