Abstract
This research aims to analyze what types of anger expressions are in Dilan 1990 movie and which type of anger expression are the most dominant. This thesis uses a qualitative method where the researcher uses observation, classification, identification, and data coding to analyze. This research answers the first question by mentioning and explaining the types of anger expressions in Dilan 1990, the movie based on the anger expression theory by Mack Le Mouse. To answer the second question, the researcher calculated the percentage accuracy of the anger expressions, then determined the most dominant anger expression and gave reasons why it is the most dominant. The result shows that there are six types of anger expressions, consisting of Behavioral Anger (17%), Passive Anger (13%), Verbal Anger (40%), Paranoid Anger (17%), Retaliatory Anger (10%), and Judgmental Anger (3%). Meanwhile, the most dominant type of anger expression is Verbal Anger, with 40%. Verbal anger is the most dominant type because, in this Dilan 1990 movie, many scenes are in the scope of education. Moreover, the characters of this movie are primarily students and teachers. Thus, verbal anger is the best way to reprimand and tell if there are mistakes between the characters in this movie because verbal anger does not involve physical action. Verbal anger is also the right choice to convey criticism, suggestions, and complaints about students and teachers. Keywords: anger expression, Dilan 1990 the movie, Mack Le Mouse, verbal anger Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa apa saja jenis-jenis ekspresi marah yang ada di film Dilan 1990 dan jenis ekspresi marah mana yang paling dominan beserta alasannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, dimana peneliti menggunakan teknik observasi, klasifikasi, identifikasi, membuat koding data untuk menganalisa. Penelitian ini menjawab pertanyaan pertama dengan menyebutkan dan menjelaskan jenis-jenis ekspresi marah dalam film Dilan 1990 berdasarkan teori ekspresi marah dari Mack Le Mouse. Untuk menjawab pertanyaan kedua, peneliti menghitung ketepatan persentase jenis-jenis ekspresi marah, lalu menentukan ekspresi marah yang paling dominan dan memberikan alasan mengapa ekspresi marah tersebut paling dominan. Pertama, terdapat enam jenis ekspresi marah yang ditemukan, yaitu Behavioral Anger (17%), Passive Anger (13%), Verbal Anger (40%), Paranoid Anger (17%), Retaliatory Anger (10%), Judgmental Anger (3%). Yang kedua, jenis ekspresi marah yang paling dominan adalah Verbal Anger (40%). Verbal anger paling dominan karena di film Dilan 1990 ini banyak adegan yang berada di lingkup pendidikan. Lagi pula, tokoh dalam film ini juga sebagian besar adalah siswa dan guru. Jadi, verbal anger adalah pilihan dan solusi terbaik untuk saling menegur dan memberi tahu jika ada kesalahan di antara para tokoh dalam film ini karena verbal anger tidak melibatkan tindakan fisik apa pun. Verbal anger juga merupakan pilihan yang tepat untuk menyampaikan kritik, saran dan keluhan bagi siswa maupun guru. Kata kunci: anger expression, Dilan 1990 the movie, Mack Le Mouse, verbal anger
