Abstract
APPLICATION OF VIGENERE CIPHER CRYPTOGRAPHY IN SECURING PATIENT MEDICAL RECORDS FANDY HENDRYAN Department of Informatics, Faculty of Science & Technology University of Technology Yogyakarta North Ringroad St., Jombor Sleman Yogyakarta E-mail: fandyhendryan1998@gmail.com ABSTRACT Medical records are very important and confidential data owned by a patient. Until now, existing medical records still use conventional systems, which have weaknesses in data security. Due to its highly confidential nature, it is necessary to have a safe enough space in this medical record information storage so that the data contained in the medical record can be stored safely. The system was developed by implementing data security using cryptographic methods so that the security of important data can be kept confidential.Hence, the purpose of this research is to build a Patient Medical Record Data Security System Using Desktop-based Vigenere Cipher Cryptography, which is expected to help medical personnel to secure information from patients. To provide a stronger guarantee of confidentiality, it is necessary to use a cryptographic system in the form of encryption, one of which is the Vigenere Cipher method.
