Abstract

HOAX NEWS DETECTION SYSTEM IN INDONESIAN LANGUAGE USING MULTILAYER PERCEPTRON REZA REINALDI Department of Informatics, Faculty of Science & Technology University of Technology Yogyakarta North Ringroad St., Jombor Sleman Yogyakarta E-mail: rezageisha@gmail.com ABSTRACT Fake news is news that the truthfulness cannot be verified but is presented similarly to factual news. It is usually used to spread misinformation and also to lead public opinion. In this digital era, the internet is one of the tools utilized by irresponsible parties to spread fake news. This study aims to create a tool to detect the difference between fake news and real ones using the Multilayer Perceptron algorithm. The hope is that the results of this study can be used as a tool to reduce the spread of fake Indonesian news. In this study, a hoax news classification system was created using the Multilayer Perceptron algorithm. This study uses a 600 news items dataset divided into two categories: real news and hoax news. A total of 550 news items were used as training data, and 50 news items were used as test data. The resulting system can classify news with an accuracy of 86%.
