Abstract

Simple Rental Flats (RUSUNAWA) are a solution from the government to reduce the growth of unorganized settlements and reduce green land in dense areas, especially in urban areas. The construction of Rusunawa provides a platform for residents' activities that are easily monitored by the government, thereby reducing negative problems in population growth. Rusunawa as a densely populated place for householders, it is not uncommon for problems to occur when residents feel uncomfortable with the facilities provided so that it is necessary to link the construction of the Rusunawa with the psychology of the residents. This paper describes a concept or idea of a Rusunawa design located in Pekanbaru City by applying the concept of Biophilic Architecture (Biophilic Design). A design that focuses on psychology such as human comfort with buildings and by applying the concept of nature so that the bond between nature and humans can reduce existing problems. In addition, the application of this concept by increasing the green space inside and outside the Rusunawa space.
