Abstract
Kata kunci: Abu Ampas Tebu, Abu Daun Bambu, CBR, Swelling, Tanah Lempung Soil is an important component in construction work. Soil with large changes in volume and expansion is an expansive clay type because it has high swelling and shrinkage properties due to changes in air content which causes low bearing capacity. Changes in the expansion and shrinkage of development become unstable so that over a long period of time it can cause more severe damage, so to overcome the problem of land subsidence caused by expansive clay, one of them is soil stabilization. This study aims to examine the effect of the use of bagasse ash and bamboo leaf ash with a certain proportion on the stabilization of expansion clay soil in Karang Beran Village, Seyegan District, Sleman Regency. The research was conducted at the Soil Mechanics Laboratory of the Civil Engineering Study Program, Yogyakarta University of Technology. The objects of this research are testing of water content, specific gravity, mountain boundaries, grain analysis, soil density, and submerged (immersed) Laboratory CBR. The percentages used in this study were 6% bagasse ash and 3%, 6%, 9%, and 12% bamboo leaf ash. Results Based on the addition of bagasse ash and bamboo leaf ash, it was found that the values of the crude fraction, specific gravity, plastic limit, shrinkage limit, maximum dry density (MDD) and CBR values increased, while the values of water content, liquid limit, plasticity index, content optimum water (OMC) and swelling decreased. Optimal results were obtained at a percentage of 6% bagasse ash plus 9% bamboo leaf ash, with a design CBR value of 6.29% and a swelling value of 0.68%.
