Abstract

Beton memiliki kelemahan pada kuat lentur yang sangat rendah. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan penelitian untuk menambah kuat lentur, salah satu cara untuk mengatasinya dengan cara penambahan serat. Serat nipah mengandung selulosa sebesar 40,81% dan lignin sebesar 11,55%. Hal tersebut maka serat nipah dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan tambah beton serat. Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kuat lentur beton serat dengan penambahan serat nipah persentase 0 %; 0,06%; 0,09%; 0,12%, dan untuk mengetahui pengaruh serat nipah pada nilai slump. Penelitian ini menggunakan benda uji balok beton dengan dimensi 15 cm x 15 cm x 60 cm, untuk metode Mix desain yang digunakan yaitu ACI (American Concrete Institute) tata cara pembuatan beton normal. Dengan masing-masing benda uji dibuat 3 benda uji, dengan rincian 9 benda uji bahan tambah dan 3 benda uji beton normal yang dilakukan pengujian kuat lentur. Serat nipah yang digunakan berasal dari Sungai Adiraja, Cilacap, Jawa Tengah. Dari hasil pengujian, diketahui bahwa penambahan serat nipah dapat menurunkan nilai slump pada beton karena semakin banyak serat yang diberikan akan mengakibatkan penurunan nilai workability. Sedangkan dari hasil pengujian kuat lentur beton diperoleh kuat lentur rata-rata beton normal yaitu 2,49 MPa dan kuat lentur beton serat dengan persentase 0,06% sebesar 2,56 MPa; persentase 0,09% sebesar 2,72; dan persentase 0,12% sebesar 2,42 MPa. Peningkatan kuat lentur tertinggi terdapat pada penambahan serat nipah persentase 0,09% sebesar 2,72 MPa. Beton serat nipah persentase 0,09% memiliki peningkatan kuat lentur beton sebesar 9,24% dari beton normal. Kata kunci: Balok beton; Beton serat; Kuat lentur; Serat nipah. Concrete has a weakness in very low flexural strength. Therefore, it is necessary to do research to increase the flexural strength, and one way to overcome this is by adding fiber. Nipah fiber contains cellulose by 40.81% and lignin by 11.55%. This means that nipah fiber can be used as an added material for fiber concrete. This research was conducted to determine the effect of flexural strength of fiber concrete with the addition of nipah fiber percentage of 0%; 0.06%; 0.09%; 0.12%, and to determine the effect of nipah fiber on the slump value. This study uses a concrete block specimen with dimensions of 15 cm x 15 cm x 60 cm, for the Mix design method used is ACI (American Concrete Institute) procedures for making normal concrete. With each specimen, 3 specimens were made, with details of 9 specimens of added materials and 3 normal concrete specimens which were tested for flexural strength. Nipah fiber used comes from the Adiraja River, Cilacap, Central Java. From the test results, it is known that the addition of nipah fiber can reduce the slump value in concrete because the more fiber given will result in a decrease in the workability value. Meanwhile, from the results of testing the flexural strength of concrete, the average flexural strength of normal concrete is 2.49 MPa and the flexural strength of fiber concrete with a percentage of 0.06% is 2.56 MPa; percentage 0.09% by 2.72; and the percentage of 0.12% is 2.42 MPa. The highest increase in flexural strength was found in the addition of nipah fiber with a percentage of 0.09% at 2.72 MPa.
