Abstract
This research entitled An Analysis of Compound Nouns Found in the Novel All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven is aimed to find out types of compound nouns and the meanings of compound nouns. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative because there is no calculation in this study. The writer uses the documentation technique because the data are taken from a novel. The writer uses documentation technique as a medium for data collection. The result of this study shows that types of compound nouns consist of noun + noun is 27, adjective + noun is 21, noun + verb is 9, verb + preposition is 1, verb + noun is 5, preposition + noun is 2, noun + preposition is 1, and noun + adjective is 1. Besides, the researcher finds 45 meanings which consist of transparent meaning and 22 opaque meaning Penelitian yang berjudul Analisis Kata Benda Majemuk yang di temukan dalam Novel All The Bright Places karya Jennifer Niven ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis kata benda majemuk dan untuk mengetahui arti dari kata benda majemuk. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif karena tidak ada perhitungan dalam penelitian ini. Penulis menggunakan teknik dokumentasi karena data diambil dari novel. Penulis menggunakan teknik dokumentasi sebagai media pengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa jenis kata benda majemuk terdiri dari kata benda + kata benda sebanyak 27, kata sifat + kata benda adalah 21, kata benda+ kata kerja adalah 9, kata kerja+preposisi berjumlah 1, kata kerja+kata benda adalah 5, preposisi+kata benda berjumlah 2, kata benda+preposisi adalah 1, dan kata benda+kata sifat 1. Selain itu, peneliti juga menemukan 45 data termasuk kedalam arti transparan dan 22 data termasuk kedalam arti opaque.
