Abstract
Yogyakarta dikenal sebagai Kota Budaya yakni kota dengan berbagai budaya yang masih kental dan dijunjung tinggi oleh masyarakat Yogyakarta. Berbagai ragam kesenian tradisional Yogyakarta juga masih hidup dan dilestarikan oleh seniman-seniman Yogyakarta, salah satunya seni tari tradisional. Yogyakarta juga merupakan daerah yang memiliki jumlah museum terbanyak di Indonesia. Data Dinas Pariwisata Provinsi D. I. Yogyakarta, 2020 mencatat provinsi DIY mempunyai sebanyak 35 museum, baik yang dikelola oleh swasta, pemerintah, maupun yayasan. Berdasarkan data dari Statistik Pariwisata Kota Yogyakarta, jumlah wisatawan yang berkunjung ke museum mengalami penurunan dalam kurun waktu 2 tahun terakhir hanya sekitar 50 persen yang rutin dikunjungi wisatawan. Sementara lainnya jarang dikunjungi, bahkan tidak dikenal masyarakat maupun wisatawan. Banyaknya jumlah museum tidak dibarengi dengan peningkatan jumlah wisatawan yang datang. Perlu adanya studi tentang museum yang mampu menarik kembali minat wisatawan untuk berkunjung ke museum. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam proses ini yaitu metode deskriptif dari proses identifikasi masalah yang menggambarkan keadaan-keadaan yang ada di lokasi tersebut melalui survey yang telah dilakukan serta menggunakan metode analisis yang memabahas secara mendalam melalui wawancara maupun dokumen. Dari metode-metode tersebut dihasilkan data-data yang akan menjadi bagian mendasar untuk merencanakan Museum di kawasan tersebut. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah mengenai proses desain dan perancangan bangunan Museum, yang mana akan diciptakan bangunan rekreatif yang dapat mewakili sifat rekreasi dan mengakomodasikan aktifitas rekreasi serta pengembangan ruang terbuka (public space) agar masyarakat ingin mengunjungi museum tanpa menunggu event tertentu. Yogyakarta is known as the City of Culture, which is a city with various cultures that are still thick and upheld high by the people of Yogyakarta. Various kinds of Yogyakarta traditional arts are also still alive and preserved by Yogyakarta artists, one of which is traditional dance. Yogyakarta is also an area that has the largest number of museums in Indonesia. Data from the D. I. Yogyakarta Provincial Tourism Office, 2020 noted that the DIY province has as many as 35 museums, both managed by the private sector, government, and foundations. Based on data from Yogyakarta City Tourism Statistics, the number of tourists visiting the museum has decreased in the last 2 years, only about 50 percent are regularly visited by tourists. While others are rarely visited, not even known to the public or tourists. The large number of museums is not accompanied by an increase in the number of tourists who come. There is a need for studies on museums that are able to attract tourists to visit the museum. The research method used in this process is the descriptive method of the problem identification process that describes the conditions that exist in the location through surveys that have been carried out and using analytical methods that discuss in depth through interviews and documents. From these methods, data are generated that will be a fundamental part of planning for museums in the area. The conclusion of this research is about the design process and the design of the museum building, which will create a recreational building that can represent the nature of recreation and accommodate recreational activities as well as development of open space (public space) so that people want to visit the museum without waiting for certain events.
