Abstract

Paving block merupakan salah satu bahan bangunan yang digunakan sebagai lapisan atas struktur jalan selain aspal dan beton. Sekarang ini banyak yang memilih paving block dibandingkan perkerasan lain seperti cor beton maupun aspal. Akan tetapi proses pembuatan paving block membutuhkan bahan berupa pasir yang banyak sehingga meningkatkan tambang pasir liar yang akan merusak lingkungan..Serat sabut kelapa (cocopeat) dikatakan mampu untuk menaikkan kuat tekan paving block sehingga dapat menjadi bahan subtitusi pasir. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh cocopeat pada uji kuat tekan bata beton dan mengetahui kekuatan maksimum yang terjadi pada beton bertulang untuk setiap masing-masing variasi penambahan serat sabut kelapa (cocopeat). Metode yang digunakan pada penlitian ini adalah metode pustaka dengan mengumplkan hasil studi dari penelitian sebelumnya dan metode experimental dengan melakukan pembuatan bata beto serta uji bata beton meliputi uji sifat tampak, uji dimensi dan uji kuat tekan pada bata beton (paving block).Pada penelitian dilakukan perawatan selama 14 hari dengan benda uji yang digunakan adalah balok 150x150x600 mm sebanyak 30 buah untuk pengujian sifat tampak, dimensi dan uji kuat tekan. Variasi subtitusi serat sabut kelapa (cocopeat) yaitu 0,6%, 0,8%, 1% dan bata beton normal tanpa bahan campuran subtitusi (0%). Hasil pengujian menunjukan bahwa subtitusi cocopeat 0,6%,0,8%,1% memiliki sifat tampak yang rata, tidak terdapat kerusakan fisik dan sesuai SNI 0-0691 tahun 1996, sama dengan bata beton normal. Pada uji dimensi keempat varian perlakuan dinyatakan lolos SNI 0-0691 tahun 1996 karena memiliki dimensi minumum 60mm dan tolerasi 8%. Pada uji kuat tekan cocopeat 0,6%, memiliki rata-rata 14.71 Mpa, cocopeat 0,8% memiliki rata-rata 13.56 Mpa, cocopeat 1% memiliki rata-rata 13.76 Mpa dan bata beton nomral memiliki rata-rata 15.47 Mpa. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan subtitusi serat sabut kelapa (cocopeat) dapat dilakukan karena hasil pengujian menunjukkan keempat bata beton masuk ke dalam bata beton mutu C sesuai SNI 0-0691 tahun 1996. Nowadays many people choose paving blocks compared to other pavements such as cast concrete or asphalt. However, the process of making paving blocks requires a lot of material in the form of sand so that it increases illegal sand mining which will damage the environment. Coconut fiber (cocopeat) is said to be able to increase the compressive strength of paving blocks so that it can be used as a substitute for sand. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of cocopeat on the compressive strength test of concrete bricks and to determine the maximum strength that occurs in reinforced concrete for each variation of the addition of coconut fiber (cocopeat). The method used in this research is the library method by collecting the results of studies from previous studies and experimental methods by making concrete bricks and concrete brick tests including appearance tests, dimension tests and compressive strength tests on concrete bricks (paving blocks). In the study, treatment was carried out for 14 days with the test object used was a beam of 150x150x600 mm as many as 30 pieces for testing visible properties, dimensions and compressive strength tests. Variations of substitution of coconut coir fiber (cocopeat) are 0.6%, 0.8%, 1% and normal concrete brick without any substitution mixture (0%). The test results showed that the substitution of cocopeat 0.6%, 0.8%, 1% had an even appearance, no physical damage and according to SNI 0-0691 1996, the same as normal concrete bricks. In the fourth dimension test, the treatment variant was declared to have passed SNI 0-0691 in 1996 because it had a minimum dimension of 60mm and a tolerance of 8%. In the compressive strength test, cocopeat 0.6% has an average of 14.71 MPa, 0.8% cocopeat has an average of 13.56 MPa, 1% cocopeat has an average of 13.76 MPa and normal concrete brick has an average of 15.47 MPa. So it can be concluded that the substitution of coco fiber (cocopeat) can be done because the test results show that the four concrete bricks are classified as C grade concrete bricks according to SNI 0-0691 1996.
