Abstract

ABSTRACT Merpati Serui Hotel is a conventional hotel engaged in the property business that provides housing as a place to stay. Based on the analysis conducted, the hotel room reservation mechanism that has been going on until now is still carried out in a simple manner, namely prospective guests make room reservations via telephone or visit Merpati Serui hotel directly. Furthermore, problems are often found, such as the slowness of the receptionist in determining the number of available rooms and making daily and monthly income reports. Based on these problems, this study aims to develop a web-based software that can help Merpati Serui Hotel in making online and offline reservations and speed up receptionists in determining the number of rooms available and making reports. This web-based software development is integrated with the Payment Gateway which makes it easy for guests to make payments online safely and using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method proposed by Pressman with stages in the form of business modeling, data modeling, process modeling and application development. With the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method, web-based software development at Merpati Serui Hotel becomes more organized and can meet user needs and create limitations in system creation so that the system made does not go out of its needs. This system is made using the PHP programming language with a MySQL database. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the system created can process online and offline reservations, secure online reservation payments, meet the needs according to the stages of the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method.
