Abstract
ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus is one of the deadliest diseases in the world, this disease can be suffered by children and adults, with causes such as foods that contain lots of sugar, poor lifestyle, lack of exercise. Diabetes mellitus is divided into 2 types, namely type 1 diabetes mellitus which generally affects children but does not rule out the possibility that adults also experience it and type 2 diabetes mellitus which generally affects adults. This study aims to classify diabetes mellitus which is divided into type 1 diabetes mellitus and type 2 diabetes mellitus, this study uses the K-Nearest Neighbor method. Making this system using the programming language Programming Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP), using a MySQL database and web-based. The results showed the best accuracy of 87.5% with a value of k = 3 with training data of 160 data and test data of 32 data. The system can also predict the type of diabetes mellitus in new patients.
