Abstract

Financial institutions have a very important role in encouraging the achievement of national goals related to the improvement and distribution of people's living standards. Financial institutions are divided into 2 (two) namely bank financial institutions and non-bank financial institutions. PT BPR BKK is an example of a bank financial institution. PT BPR BKK Surakarta is an institution that can disburse credit loans for both business and consumptive capital. To avoid unwanted things related to credit applications, PT PBR BKK Surakarta must be careful in providing credit to prospective customers. One of them is by conducting a 5C analysis consisting of Character, Capacity, Capital, Condition of Economic, and Collateral. The purpose of this study was to determine the system and procedures for granting credit at PT BPR BKK Surakarta and to determine whether the credit granting system at PT BPR BKK Surakarta was in accordance with the 5C principle. The results of this report indicate that (1) the credit distribution system provided by PT BPR BKK Surakarta has been carried out quite well, whose procedures consist of credit application, credit terms assessment, credit analysis, credit approval, credit agreement, and credit realization; and (2) The application of the 5C principle in the process of granting credit to PT BPR BKK Surakarta has not been carried out fully in accordance with the guidelines for operational activities of PT BPR BKK. It is known that PT BPR BKK has not properly implemented the principles of capacity and capital.
