Abstract

Solok is the name of a Regency and Madya city in West Sumatra Province which is located at an altitude of 329 meters - 1,458 meters above sea level, which makes this area has a cold air and very beautiful scenery. Solok is a very famous rice�producing area, namely Bareh Solok, the distance from the city of Padang to the capital of Solok Regency is approximately 40 kilometers. Apart from being a rice producer, the tourism potential of Solok is almost the same as other areas in West Sumatra which needs to be taken into account, because in Solok there are also many natural attractions that can be visited and have extraordinary beauty. Technology is currently developing rapidly, brings us to a life that cannot be separated from information technology itself. Information technology can now be done more optimally and actual. In its use, information technology has a goal to achieve efficiency in various aspects of information management as evidenced by the speed and timeliness of processing, as well as the accuracy and precision of the information they need. In this case, the researcher also wants to participate in the development of publicly available information technology about tourist attractions in the form of a Mobile Application as a Media for Tourism Information in Solok Regency, West Sumatra by Using Location Based Service. This system provides services that can map tourist locations more easily and quickly. This system is also made in such a way to be more interactive with the user in its operation.
