Abstract

Kebudayaan merupakan suatu hal yang tidak dapat dilepaskan dari manusia maupun masyarakat, dimana ada kebudayaan disitu pula terdapat masyarakat.Seperti halnya Kabupaten RajaAmpat merupakan salah satu daerah yang memiliki ragam kebudayaan.Kebudayaan di Kabupaten RajaAmpat belum dikenal oleh masyarakat luas. Kondisi seperti ini juga terjadi dalam masyarakat Kabupaten RajaAmpat dimana sekarang sudah perlahan luntur kebudayaannya karena terbatasnya informasi akan budaya setempat dan juga faktor tidak tersedianya wadah untuk berekspresi. Karena itulah dibutuhkan kehadiran sebuah Cultural Center atau lebih dikenal dengan Pusat Kebudayaan. Pusat kebudayaan tidak hanya sebagai tempat untuk mendekatakan budaya Kabupaten RajaAmpat dengan masyarakatnya sendiri, namun juga bertindak sebagai wadah pelestarian budaya sehingga tercipta komunikasi langsung dengan masyarakat mengenai kebubudayaan Kabupaten RajaAmpat. Tema atau pendekatan yang diterapkan pada perancangan Cultural Center di Kabupaten RajaAmpat ini adalah Rekreatif dan Edukatif. Rekreatif dan Edukatif adalah tema yang biasa digunakan dalam perancangan yang menerapkan unsur budaya dan dan rekreasi yang menghasilkan karya desain yang baru dari perancang ini. Penerapan tema atau pendekatan ini diharapkan mampu menginterpretasikan Budaya papua yang terkhususnya di Kabupaten RajaAmpat melalui objek Cultural Center yang dirancang. Perancangan Cultural Center dengan pendekatan Rekratif dan Edukatif ini guna mendapatkan solusi rancangan yang diinginkan berdasarkan permasalahan yang ada. Kemudian dilakukan analisis terhadap objek dan konsep yang matang pada rancangan. Sehingga di dapat solusi desain yang diinginkan dan dibutuhkan. Culture is inseparable from humans and society; where there is a culture, there is also a community. Raja Ampat is a regency with a variety of cultures. The culture in Raja Ampat has not yet been known by the wider community. This condition also occurs in the people of Raja Ampat where their culture is slowly fading because of limited information on local culture, and also the unavailability of a place for expression; therefore, the presence of a cultural center is needed. A cultural center is not only a place to bring the culture of Raja Ampat closer to its own people, but also acts as a forum for cultural preservation, and thus can create direct communication with the community about the culture of Raja Ampat. The theme applied to the design of the cultural center in Raja Ampat is recreative and educative approaches. Recreative and educative are the themes commonly used in designing cultural and recreational elements that producing new designs from this design. By implementing this theme or approaches, it is expected to be able to interpret the Papuan culture, especially in Raja Ampat, through the designed cultural center object. The design of the cultural center using this educative and recreative approaches is to obtain the desired design solution, based on existing problems. Furthermore, the developed objects and concepts in the design is analyzed. Consequently, the desired and needed design solutions can be obtained.
