It means that the data collected come from several books, namely the novel Persuasion by Jane Austen, and scientific articles related to the research. This research is qualitative. In her research, the writer obtained assistance from three theories. These theories are objective theory proposed by M.H. Abram, sociology theory by Max Weber, and psychoanalysis theory proposed by Sigmund Freud. The data collecting technique used is by discussing the novel carefully to find data related to social class in romantic relationships, then identifying, classifying, and drawing conclusions with the help of the theories used. This research finds that the main character of the novel, Captain Wentworth, can overcome this form of discrimination by changing his social class in the form of 1) struggle, 2) motivation, and 3) loyalty.
