Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the challenges of gender stereotype experienced by Eloise Bridgerton in the Netflix series "Bridgerton", as well as the reasons for her challenges of gender stereotype, the responses of her family to her challenges of gender stereotype, also the life in Netflix series "Bridgerton" and London 1880s. This study uses liberal feminism theory, an objective approach, and a mimetic approach. This study is qualitative research. In collecting data, the writer uses library research method. The primary data were collected from the Netflix series "Brigderton". The secondary data were collected from books, journals, and articles. The data collection technique is by watching the series and taking notes. The analysis of this study found some results. The findings show that Eloise Bridgerton is a feminist. She experiences some challenges of gender stereotypes because she is a woman, and her challenges of gender stereotypes are influenced by her family's background, which is strict about social roles. Eloise's challenges with gender stereotypes obtain some responses from her family. In London's 1800s, women faced the same thing as Eloise.
