Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises or what we often call UMKM are business activities that are able to expand employment opportunities, provide broad economic services throughout Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to find out the strategy of the Cooperatives and MSMEs service in increasing the competitiveness of MSMEs to face the MEA 2022. Indonesia is currently entering a phase of demographic bonus which must be put to good use. The number of young people with more than 25% of a total of around 250 million Indonesians, combined with 59.2 million units of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) which contribute 61.41% to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) are the two major strengths of the Indonesian economy. However, of this number, 90% of MSME units are still running offline, even though data for January 2016 stated that the potential for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure has covered around 90% of the population with more than 126% mobile penetration rate with the level of internet users. reached 51.8% of the total population of Indonesia. For this reason, strategies and innovations are needed to develop MSMEs in the digital economy era in Indonesia. One of them is through E-MSMEs, an android-based marketing application for MSMEs products as a prospective step to improve the Indonesian economy. E-UMKM is an android-based application designed to market Indonesian MSME products online and system-integrated. Facing the challenges of the digital economy, Indonesia must have an effective marketing and policy strategy, making this application is expected to be able to introduce, promote and maintain the existence of Indonesian MSMEs so as to improve the national economy.
