Abstract

This study analyzes the person deixis found in the Indonesian horror film entitled KKN di Desa Penari. The research is aimed at identifying and classifying the types of person deixis as analyzing the form of the usage of persona deixis, either gestural or symbolic, found in the film KKN in Desa Penari. This research uses qualitative descriptive methods in the process of collecting the data. The person deixis data found was taken from the dialogue on the English subtitles of the film KKN di Desa Penari. The research on person deixis that was found was analyzed based on the theory of deixis by Levinson, one of which divided person deixis into three, namely: first-person, second-person, and third-person, all three of which were divided back into two based on objects found in the data, namely singular and plural. In this study, three types of persona deixis were found with each number of objects per type so that they became six types, namely: singular first-person deixis (27%), plural first-person deixis (8%), single-second-person deixis (38%), plural second�person deixis (1%), third-person deixis singular (21%) and plural third-person deixis (5%), with the total data from a total of 536 (100%). The amount of data found in this study was calculated based on the number of uses of person deixis by characters in the film in each scene. Meanwhile, it was also analyzed the form of the usage of person deixis was found, namely in a gestural and symbolic forms. Keyword: person deixis, film, KKN di Desa Penari
