Abstract
This research entitled An Analysis of Negative Expressions Found in Dayak Jalai Language is aimed to finding the types of negative expressions in Dayak Jalai language and the function of negative expressions in Dayak Jalai language. The method that used in this research is qualitative descriptive. The researcher interviewed the local people and observation to find data. In this research, the researcher try to identify and classify the negative expressions found in Dayak Jalai language. The result of this research, there are three types of negative expressions found in Dayak Jalai language. Those are declarative sentence, imperative sentence and interrogative sentence. In declarative sentence, there three constituent hindak, balum and bukan. In imperative sentence only use constituent ija. And the last there are three types of interrogative sentence, those are tag question, yes-no question and WH question.
