Abstract
This research is conducted to answer two research questions as follows: 1) what are the symbols showing Snow White has masculinity and femininity? 2) what are the traits of masculinity and femininity in the character of Snow White? This research applies descriptive qualitative by using the theory of Sandra L Bem and Landy. The object of this research is Snow White and The Huntsman film. In this film, there are four symbols of masculinity and two symbols of femininity. The traits of masculinity and femininity are also found in Snow White. There are six masculinity and four femininity traits. The symbols of masculinity include armor, horse, sword, and shield. Meanwhile, the symbols of femininity are dresses and necklaces. Masculinity traits include acting as a leader, making decisions easily, having a strong personality, and being ambitious, competitive, and dominant. However, Snow White also has feminine traits, including cheerful, gentle, soft-spoken, and sympathetic. Keywords: Film, Masculinity, Femininity, Characterization
