Abstract

This study aims at knowing the domestic violence and the impacts on the victims as represented in a teen novel entitled Eleanor and Park. The study is a descriptive and qualitative one, using the novel as the main source of data. To gain the data and analyse them, the writer is helped by Objective Theory. The method of data collection is by examining the novel’s intrinsic aspects such as characterization, plot, and through interpretation of the data make categorization of the forms of domestic violence seen in the novel. The study has found there are three forms of domestic violence in the novel. Those are a) too strict rules, b) verbal violence, and c) oppression. Three of them bring bad impacts on the victims such as depressed feeling, insecurity, and trauma.
