Abstract

This study aims to determine the horror setting in Deadime Stories Grave Secret novel. The study uses descriptive and qualitative methods with the novel as the primary data source. The Objective Theory helps the writer in getting the data and analyzing them. The data analysis process in this research examines the novel's aspects contained in the conversation and each paragraph. The writer interpreted the data he gathered and related them with the Abram’s objective theory. From the studies conducted. There are two types of horror settings that influence this novel. The influential horror settings are location setting and situation setting. The results of this study are that horror incidents can occur anywhere and in any situation. The writer found that many horror incidents that occurred in this novel did not only occur in dark places, at night, and in quiet situations. But it can happened in random places, random time, and in random situations
