Abstract
This study is an in-depth semiotic analysis of the Seven Wonders, a major theme in American Horror Story: Coven. It employs the Umberto Eco’s theory on semiotics to unlock the meanings coded in the Seven Wonders. Each of these stages represents various kinds of power. Descriptive qualitative research design is used where linguistic terms and gestures are closely looked at. This analysis offers a complete comprehension on how these elements affect the story line. The optimization of meaning results in the Seven Wonders being transformed into representational devices embedded within socio-cultural contexts. It seeks to unveil how the show uses these semiotic components to offer further vantage points for understanding its symbolic complexity.
