Abstract
This research aims to identify, analyze and describe the form of emotional expression towards the language and social environment of Riley's character and the five emotions in her mind, namely Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust. In this analysis, the author uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection was taken from observation, highlighting, and categorizing. This research uses psycholinguistic theory to understand and obtain the form of expression of a language. The results of this analysis found four types of expressions: Facial expressions that involve changes in the eyes, eyebrows, and mouth; Voice expressions that include changes in pitch and tone; Movement expressions that involve body movements such as hands and shoulders; and other expressions that include physical reactions such as crying, sweating, and shaking. The study also showed a comparison in Riley's expression of emotions after moving from an old environment where she showed stable and happy emotions, to a new unfamiliar environment. In this new environment, Riley experienced increased stress leading to negative emotions such as anxiety, frustration and sadness.
