Abstract
Enola Holmes 2 is a film that brings the theme of woman emancipation into the center of its narrative. The story presents how the female protagonist resists social and structural inequalities during the Victorian era. This study aims to analyze the representation of woman emancipation as reflected by the main character. The first objective is to examine how Enola Holmes represents female independence and resistance against patriarchal norms through her actions, choices, and relationships. The second objective focuses on how the film addresses issues of violence against women, especially in the labor context of matchstick factories. This study is a descriptive qualitative research with a mimetic approach. This study applies feminist theory, Marxist feminism and intersectionality to analyze selected scenes, dialogues and visual narratives. The research was conducted through film observation, scene documentation, and note-taking techniques. The findings reveal that Enola Holmes embodies both individual resistance and collective solidarity, becoming a symbol of women’s struggle against patriarchal norms and class exploitation. Moreover, the film illustrates how emancipation is influenced by gender, class, and political structure. Through the lens of Enola’s character and the social injustice depicted in the film, Enola Holmes 2 delivers a multidimensional feminist narrative that reflects historical realities and promotes awareness of violence against women.
