Abstract

Penelitian Tugas Akhir ini menyajikan perancangan Bandara Perintis di Kecamatan Serasan, Kabupaten Natuna, Kepulauan Riau, sebagai respons terhadap urgensi konektivitas di wilayah kepulauan terdepan yang strategis, dengan secara tegas menggunakan pendekatan Arsitektur Kontekstual. Tujuannya adalah menciptakan fasilitas transportasi udara yang tidak hanya memenuhi standar fungsional penerbangan perintis, tetapi juga harmonis dan adaptif terhadap konteks alam, yaitu iklim tropis maritim yang lembap dan berangin, serta konteks budaya lokal masyarakat pesisir Natuna. Melalui metode deskriptif kualitatif, hasil perancangan berhasil mengintegrasikan fungsionalitas modern dengan kearifan lokal, di mana Respon Iklim diwujudkan melalui optimalisasi orientasi massa bangunan untuk ventilasi dan pencahayaan alami, sementara Representasi Budaya tercermin dalam penggunaan bentuk dan ornamen yang terinspirasi dari elemen kemaritiman dan pola tradisional Natuna pada fasad dan interior Terminal Penumpang. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Arsitektur Kontekstual merupakan strategi efektif untuk pembangunan infrastruktur berkelanjutan yang kokoh, hemat energi, dan mampu menjadi simbol identitas kuat bagi Natuna sebagai garda terdepan Indonesia. This final project presents the design of a pioneer airport in Serasan District, Natuna Regency, Riau Islands, addressing the urgent need for connectivity in this strategically important outermost island region through a contextual architectural approach. The objective is to create an air transportation facility that not only meets the functional standards of pioneer aviation but also harmonizes with and adapts to the natural environment, specifically, the humid, windy maritime tropical climate, and the local cultural context of Natuna's coastal communities. Employing qualitative descriptive methods, the design successfully integrates modern functionality with local wisdom. Climate responsiveness is achieved by optimizing the building’s mass orientation to enhance natural ventilation and lighting, while cultural representation is expressed through forms and ornaments inspired by maritime elements and traditional Natuna patterns featured on the facade and interior of the passenger terminal. Overall, this study concludes that contextual architecture is an effective strategy for developing sustainable infrastructure that is resilient, energy-efficient, and serves as a powerful symbol of Natuna’s identity as Indonesia’s frontline.
