Abstract
This study concerns about the slang language found in Bruno Mars’ songs. The writer is interested to Bruno Mars’, whose real name is Pete Gene Hernandez, because of the uniqueness of the and the way he serves the song is unusual, especially in the way of using slang language. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the slang language found in Bruno Mars’ song. This study has three objectives. The first is to find out what the types of slang language found in Bruno Mars’ songs are. The second one is to find out what the dominant slang word used in Bruno Mars’ songs. This research uses noting in order to get the data. The data are got by a: reading the lyrics, find the slangs, and classified them based on the theory found. The result of this research are two. The first, there are four slang language types found which are clipping, coinage, blending and acronym. The second one is the most used type of slang is clipping. There are 33 words and based on the theory there are 20 words which are clipping types. This concludes that 59% data are in the form of clipping type. Coinage is the second most used type. There are 23 % data out of 33 data. The third most used typs is blending lagu Bruno Mars adalah blending. There are 10% data out of 33 data are blending type. The acronym is the least used one.
