Abstract
ABSTRACT The power loss in the transmission line is important because the greater the transmission power loss causes a large decrease in voltage at the receiving end and the economic loss of the PLN is also greater. One method that can be used to minimize transmission power losses is by setting the reactive power flow on the transmission line. It is said that the transmission line is good if it has power losses that do not exceed the specified tolerance limit. Given the large amount of load demand that is constantly changing according to customer needs, the proper allocation of reactive power can produce optimum conditions on the transmission line. In this study, the high voltage equipment that is the focus of the research is the power transformer, especially on the transformer tap section. Given the change in position of the transformer tap can provide a number of reactive power in accordance with the required load. Reactive power on the load can also affect the system voltage, so by simulating the improvement of the power factor on the load side it can be analyzed how much the impact of reactive power changes on the load side on the effect. The research simulation will be carried out using ETAP 12.6 software. Meanwhile the research was carried out on one part of the Java-Bali interconnection system, precisely on the 150 KV transmission line that connects the Bantul substation and the Godean substation. The two substations are under the supervision of PT PLN (Persero) Transmisi Central Java Area Maintenance (APP) Areas of Salatiga Basecamp Yogyakarta. In accordance with the title of this research, "Optimization of Voltage and Reactive Power Settings to Minimize Transmission Power Loss", this research will analyze the reactive power allocation needed to reduce transmission power losses studied using transformer tap position settings (On Load Tap Changer) in one of the substations and the effect of improving the power factor to help reduce transmission power losses. Keywords : Voltage, Reactive Power, Transformer, Power Factor
