Abstract
Transportion is a part of many social and economics activities. Infrastructure and access condition influence an individual must go to an access point. Transportation system performance depends on how travelers respond to the variability in network performance. A better understanding of passenger behavior under the ordinary and unexpected condition is needed. This study purposed to show how the alternative transportation modes is used based on the customers’ perspectives on Yogyakarta City. The data collection method was used both primary and secondary data through a qualitative research method. The total informants interviewed were 32 people. The results implies that the desire of people to travel can affect directly or indirectly dependent on several factors, i.e. the price of transportation, fuel price, taxes and one of them is the weather. Besides weather information, information schedule of departure time and arrivals of public transport is also quite important. Besides, reducing congestion due to the high number of users of private vehicles should be considered together. Not only use of mass transit, use of environmentally friendly modes such as bicycles or walking habits into something that should be get priority.
