Abstract
The final paper studied and analyzed Theodore Twombly’s Efforts to Cope with Post-Divorce in Her Film. There were three problems analyzed in this study. Those were the problems faced by Theodore Twombley after he had been divorced, Theodore Twombly’s efforts to handle his post-divorce problems, and the results of his efforts. The researcher used Objective Theory. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis method which focused on the analysis of textual data. The data were collected by reading the script of the movie repeatedly, watching the movie, reading some references related to the theory and the movie, taking note of important data, rearranging, ordering, and generating descriptive information and making conclusion. The result showed that Theodore Twombly chose positive ways to solve his loneliness, despair, and failure feelings by making friends, His friends supported and comforted him, were willing to share each other's feelings, and made him feel worthy. To cope with his loneliness and need for sex Theodore made some dates with women and had a love relationship with a virtual lover, an Artificial Intelligent Operating System. Theodore tried to solve his wounded and rejected feeling by trying to accept reality of life he must face. He finally learnt that he had done many wrong things in his marriage life and accepted his being divorced. His effort brought good results and had made him able to move on and made a better life.
