Abstract
This study untangles Osing’s song in Banyuwangi. It emphasizes in topicalization case. Osing language concerns the writer to further know dues to the uniqueness and uncommon style of language. It is such Javanese language but it is completely not. The main goal of this writing is to know the structure and the function of topicalization found in Osing’s song lyrics. The used method in this study was qualitative research. The object is Osing’s song lyric which applied the original Osing language. Besides, the writer interviewed a figure of related topic. The data collecting techniques were by submitting data from Osing’s song lyric and interviewing a native figure. The result of this research shows that topicalization in Osing’s song lyric has nine types; moved adverb left transposition, quantifier fronting, imperative negative fronting, object fronting, subject fronting, contradictive expression fronting, subjunctive words fronting, figurative language fronting, and bare negative fronting. Based on the findings, moved adverb left transposition is the most used type of topicalization. In addition, the functions of topicalization in Osing’s songs are to become contrast devices and emphasis-creating devices. Keywords: Banyuwangi, Osing language, song lyric, topicalization
