Abstract
Magelang Regency has tourism potential that is very likely to be visited by tourists to fill holidays with family or have recreation with friends. The tourism sector in Magelang Regency is in real terms a very strategic sector because it is located between two tourist destinations, Semarang - Yogyakarta which has quite a variety of tourism potentials. Not a few tourists are confused about which tourist spot to visit, while the costs they have are limited. In Magelang Regency, there are several tourist objects that can be visited by tourists, such as Borobudur Temple, Mendut Temple, Ngawen Temple, Ketep Pandang Post, Kopeng, Kayangan Waterfall, and others. Plus if the tourists will stay overnight or maybe even rent a vehicle to travel. The Department of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports of Magelang Regency has actually introduced its tourist objects to the public, but in disseminating information about tourism it is still manual, including giving brochures, pamphlets, posters, and books to tourists visiting a tourist attraction. However, this promotional media is considered inefficient and spends a lot of money (costs) which are quite expensive for the making of the promotional media. In addition, this promotional media has not been able to reach all the information needed by tourists, so a website-based application is needed that can provide information about tourist objects, tourist attraction locations, and brief descriptions of tourist objects. Providing accurate data on the condition of tourist objects in Magelang Regency is very much needed. To introduce tourism objects in the Magelang region, this research will create a tourism website for Magelang regency. The importance of this website is that it can save costs in delivery and can be accessed by all users with an internet network. With this website, it is hoped that many tourists will visit Magelang Regency and improve the economy for the people around the tour.
