The data are categorized into three main points which are irony in parenting, social life, and spirituality. In this paper, the writer applies objective theory by M. H. Abrams in which the writer only focuses on Tim Burton’s work. The research finds that the whole film is an irony of life. The ironies are especially found in the parenting, social, and spirituality aspects. The ironies mostly happen in the world of the livings where perfection is the ultimate ideal but in reality, the people do contradictory things and have bad attitudes. Whereas in the world of the dead, which commonly known as a horrifying world, the inhabitants are good and always do loving things.
