Abstract

Cats are pets that are loved by many people because of their cute behavior. One of the things that cat owners need to know is age, because the age of the cat affects the pattern of care, such as feeding and vaccines. In the current era of technological advances, cat owners who want to know the age of the cat do not have to go to the vet directly but can be obtained using an artificial intelligence system with an expert system. Expert systems are designed to solve certain problems by imitating the work of experts. Therefore, an android-based cat age detection expert system application was made. This system is able to detect the age of cats in the range of 2 weeks to less than 52 weeks using the forward chaining method. The indicator used is the state of the cat's teeth. The way the system works in detecting the cat's age is that the user selects a tooth indication according to the cat's condition, then the system will provide diagnostic results in the form of cat age, classification, and a brief explanation. In addition to detecting the cat's age, this application also provides information on cat care tips including giving vaccines and deworming medicine. Based on the results of a study with ten experiments, an accuracy rate of 80% was obtained, so this application is able to detect the age of a cat well. Keywords: Expert System, Cat Age, Forward Chaining, Android.
