Abstract

ABSTRACT Bandwdth is the width of the frequency band where this frequency band is used for data transmission in an electronic transmission medium in a data communication. The number of users who use an internet connection to access various sites that are not related to work or important things can result in ineffective use of available bandwidth. One way to overcome this is to do bandwidth management techniques. This study performs bandwidth management with the mangle method, where the distribution of bandwidth is carried out evenly based on active users. Hotspot itself is a network connection without using a cable or commonly known as wireless. Wireless connections are now widely used, especially in places such as cafes and coffee shops because this connection is more practical than using a cable connection. Plus, today's users mostly use devices such as cellphones and laptops that don't have ports for LAN cables, so wireless connections are very easy to implement. Access point is a device used in wireless network connection (Hotspot area) where all users are connected without using a LAN cable but using air media. The implementation of this network installation consists of installing RJ45 connectors on UTP cables, configuring access points, configuring MikroTik server hotspots.
