Abstract
The writer uses a novel by Stephen Chbosky entitled The Perks of Being A Wallflower as the material in this research. This research emphasizes on an analysis of Charlie’s introvert personality and the factors which influence it. In collecting data, the writer uses two kinds of data. The primary data is using The Perks of Being A Wallflower novel and the supporting data is using journals, articles, books, the internet, or website which has correlation with the writer’s research. To analyze, the writer uses the psychology theory by Carl G. Jung to support this research. The result of this research is that introvert Charlie Kelmeckis’s personality is supported by consciousness, personal unconsciousness, and archetypes. Charlie’s introvert personality is caused by two factors. The first factor is from his aunt, Helen, his favorite person who abused him when he was a child. The second factor is the death of his closest friend. Both factors involve personal unconsciousness. Keywords: Archetypes, Introvert, Personality
