Abstract
Sebagian besar bentang alam Kabupaten Gunungkidul berupa perbukitan karst. Batuan karst yang berongga membentuk goa-goa dengan aliran sungai bawah tanah yang dalam. Kondisi tersebut berakibat pada ketersediaan air tanah ketika musim kemarau yang berpotensi kekeringan setiap tahunnya. Upaya terkait pemenuhan air bersih serta penelitian terkait pemanfaatan air sungai bawah tanah belum sepenuhnya terealisasi. Pusat studi dan pemanfaatan kekayaan alam Kabupaten Gunungkidul saat ini baru memanfaatan gelombang laut dan kecepatan angin saja. Belum adanya sarana dan prasarana terkait pengolahan sungai bawah tanah tersebut secara masif sebagai kegiatan riset dan edukasi. Kawasan perancangan memiliki potensi dalam membangkitkan energi terbarukan guna menjalankan proses pemgolahan air sungai bawah tanah dan air hujan. Kawasan Pantai Baron di Kabupaten Gunungkidul merupakan kawasan pengembangan energi terbarukan yang didukung oleh pusat studi dan pemanfaatan energi terbarukan bernama Baron Techno Park. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, diperlukan pusat studi pengolahan air sungai bawah tanah yang memanfaatkan aliran sungai yang bermuara di pantai baron serta pengolahan air hujan guna mengurangi dampak kekeringan setiap tahunnya. Oleh karena itu, timbul gagasan suatu perancangan arsitektur berjudul Gunungkidul Water Treatment Facility and Energy sebagai pusat riset dan edukasi terkait konservasi air sungai bawah tanah dan air hujan dengan memanfaatkan energi terbarukan. Regenerative Architecture merupakan metode pendekatan desain dengan menyelaraskan regenerasi alam yang saling bersinergi dengan arsitektur yang estetis dan fungsional. Selain itu, perancangan Gunungkidul Water Treatment Facility and Energy diharapkan dapat menjadi destinasi wisata edukasi di masa depan. Most of the landscape of Gunungkidul Regency is karst hills. Hollow karst rock forms caves with deep underground streams. This condition has the potential to result in the availability of ground water that experiences drought during the dry season every year. Efforts related to the fulfillment of clean water and research related to the use of underground river water have not been fully realized. The center for the study and utilization of natural resources in Gunungkidul Regency currently only utilizes ocean waves and wind speed. The absence of facilities and infrastructure related to underground river processing massively becomes the background of a research and education activity. The design area has the potential to generate renewable energy to carry out the processing of underground river water and rainwater. The Baron Beach area in Gunungkidul Regency is a renewable energy development area that is supported by a center for the study and utilization of renewable energy called Baron Techno Park. Based on these problems, a study center for underground river water treatment is needed that utilizes river flows that empties into Baron Beach and rainwater treatment to reduce the impact of drought every year. Therefore, the idea arose to design an architecture entitled Gunungkidul Water Treatment Facility and Energy as a research and education center related to the conservation of underground river water and rainwater by utilizing renewable energy. Regenerative Architecture is a design approach method by aligning natural regeneration that synergizes with aesthetic and functional architecture. In addition, the design of the Gunungkidul Water Treatment Facility and Energy is expected to become an educational tourism destination in the future.
