Abstract
Berdasarkan Paving Block merupakan material penutup atau pengerasan permukaan tanah yang sangat luas penggunaannya terutama untuk trotoar jalan, pengerasan jalan kawasan pemukiman, memperindah taman, dan pengerasan area parkir Selama ini pecahan terumbu karang jahe belum banyak dimanfaatkan, bahkan dibiarkan begitu saja tanpa adanya pengolahan yang lebih bermanfaat sehingga menumpuk dan terkesan hanya mengotori lingkungan pesisir pantai. Tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil daya serap air dan kuat tekan yang dapat diperoleh Paving Block normal dan Paving Block dengan pecahan terumbu karang jahe. Serta mengetahui perbandingan hasil daya serap air dan kuat tekan antara Paving Block normal dan Paving Block dengan pecahan terumbu karang jahe. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan ialah studi eksperimental, dengan pelaksaan pengujian yang mengaacu pada SNI 03-0691-1996 tentang Bata Beton. Adapun pengujian yang dilakukan yakni pengujian kuat tekan dan penyerapan air. Tugas akhir ini melakukan perbandingan antara Paving Block normal dengan Paving Block dengan bahan pengganti agregat halus pecahan terumbu karang jahe. Dengan jumlah sample uji sebanyak 40 pcs, yang terdiri dari 20 pcs sample uji Paving Block normal dan 20 pcs Paving Block pecahan terumbu karang jahe. Hasil analisis yang dilakukan dari 10 sample uji untuk Paving Block dengan agregt halus pasir kuat tekan didapatkan nilai rata-rata 13,47 Mpa dan penyerapan air sebesar 5,48% sehingga kuat tekan masuk ke dalam tingkat mutu Kelas C dan penyerapan air masuk ke dalam tingkat mutu Kelas B menggacu pada SNI 03-0691-1996. Sedangkan, untuk Paving Block dengan bahan pengganti pecahan terumbu karang jahe menghasilkan nilai kuat tekan 11,62 Mpa dan penyerapan air sebesar 6,43 sehingga kuat tekan masuk ke dalam tingkat mutu Kelas C dan penyerapan air masuk ke dalam tingkat mutu Kelas C. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunakan pecahan terumbu karang jahe sebagai bahan pengganti agregat halus/pasir dapat dilakukan. Sehingga, Paving Block pecahan terumbu karang jahe direkomendasikan untuk digunakan. Kata kunci : Jahe, Kuat Tekan, Paving Block, Penyerapan Air, Terumbu Karang. So far, the fragments of ginger coral reefs have not been widely used, even left without any more useful processing so that they accumulate and seem to only pollute the coastal environment. This final project aims to determine the results of water absorption and compressive strength that can be obtained from normal Paving Blocks and Paving Blocks with ginger coral fragments. As well as knowing the comparison of the results of water absorption and compressive strength between normal Paving Blocks and Paving Blocks with ginger coral fragments. The research method used is an experimental study, with testing that refers to SNI 03-0691-1996 regarding Concrete Brick. The tests carried out are compressive strength and water absorption tests. This final project compares normal paving blocks with paving blocks with a substitute for fine aggregate of ginger coral fragments. With the number of test samples as many as 40 pieces, consisting of 20 pieces normal Paving Block test samples and 20 pieces Paving Blocks of ginger coral fragments. The results of the analysis carried out from 10 test samples for Paving Blocks with fine aggregate sand compressive strength obtained an average value of 13.47 Mpa and water absorption of 5.48% so that the compressive strength entered the Class C quality level and water absorption entered the Class B quality level refers to SNI 03-0691-1996. Meanwhile, for Paving Block with a replacement material for ginger coral fragments, it produces a compressive strength value of 11.62 Mpa and water absorption of 6.43 so that the compressive strength is included in the Class C quality level and the water absorption enters the Class C quality level. concluded that the use of ginger coral fragments as a substitute for fine aggregate/sand can be done.
