Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by deficiencies in the tax data security system which is still vulnerable to data leaks due to the use of traditional methods, where clients have to go to a consultant's office for consultation and the tax data process is carried out directly. Therefore, technology is needed as a solution to secure tax data, by applying the vigenere cipher technique. The aim of this research is to create a security system and encrypt tax data and evaluate the performance of the Vigenere Cipher algorithm. Research methods include observation, interviews, and literature study, with software support such as MySQL, XAMPP, Visual Studio Code, and Balsamiq. The research results show that this tax data security system uses PHP as a programming language and MySQL as a database, while data encryption uses the vigenere cipher cryptographic method. Thus, it is hoped that this application can help improve the security of tax data. Keywords: Algorithm, Cryptography, Vigenere Cipher, Steganography.
