Abstract
ABSTRACT The security system in an agency plays a very important role, especially in the educational sector, such as SMP Negeri 1 Tempel, which has many documents that are recorded systematically and computerized. Documents such as student grades and student data are internal data where only the school concerned has access rights to these documents. For parties who do not have access, they know that the document will cause data leaks, so considering this, data security is necessary. So in this research it will be planned to create a data security implementation system using cryptography. Cryptography is a security process to protect documents, can protect and minimize data leaks. The cryptographic method for data security uses Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) with 128 encryption keys which will be implemented on a web-based system using a MySQL database and the PHP programming language.
