Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesia is a country rich in cultural diversity spread from Sabang to Merauke. However, it is often difficult to get information about cultural events that will take place due to ineffective and limited information dissemination. This happens because the information is only spread through the internet, social media, and print and electronic media that only cover certain areas. This causes uneven distribution of information. This research aims to develop an android-based Indonesian cultural event information system. This system will implement web service technology with REST API architecture and Firebase push notification features. The web service is used to exchange data between the server and the client application, and the Firebase push notification feature is used to provide notifications and reminders to application users. This research produces two systems, websites and applications. The website will be operated by the event manager as an admin to process cultural event data, while the application is operated by the society or tourists to search for cultural events. This cultural event information system can make it easier for society and tourists to get information on cultural events that will take place in Indonesia. Keyword: Information System, Cultural Event, Web Service, Firebase Push Notifications, Android.
