Abstract

ABSTRACT Society's view of communication with deaf people is still very minimal, we can overcome this by trying to learn and know sign language which can make communication easier, both for ourselves, other people, and everything or any information we want to convey through sign language. Therefore, self-awareness is needed to increase one's knowledge about communication using sign language. There is not enough learning about sign language among the public, which makes it difficult for the general public to learn sign language. The general public's lack of knowledge about sign language makes the author choose mobile technology to create basic sign language learning media because it feels quite appropriate because mobile technology is currently developing rapidly. By creating a Mobile-Based Basic Level Sign Language Learning Application, it is hoped that it can help deaf people and the general public to learn to communicate well. This application will help users learn the basics of sign language using the Sistem Isyarat Bahasa Indonesia (SIBI) method. Keywords: Deaf, Sign Language, SIBI, Learning, Mobile Applications.
